RPS will present Saori Ninomiya Photo Exhibition “Her portrait – On the traces of Kyoko”

Few years ago, Kyoko had been victim of sexual assault and suffered from a heavy PTSD.
Her daily panics, flash backs and dissociations was such that it had handicapped her from human relationships.
She couldn’t live a normal life anymore and had to quit her jobs. The first time I met her was during that period.

Right after our encounter, she was diagnosed with progressive colon cancer and had to undergo surgery.
Sadly, post-surgery check-ups revealed she had sarcoidosis. The 5-year survival rate was only 5%.

How many tragedies had she to go through?
Unbelievable reality. What should she believe in?
Is it really worth living? What is the meaning of life?
How many times she thought about putting an end to her life. How many times she wanted to be released from pains?
But..

Kyoko chose to live. Live, live and live. Just live.

It’s been three years since I met and photographed her. Sometimes she had one leg into death,
sometimes she was embracing life.

*Note that shipping and handling fees will be extra depending on where you want the book / print to be sent.
From the photobook and exhibition, you can specify any one image of your choice. Overseas sponsors who cannot attend the exhibition can ask a pdf catalog for the image selection.

But please don’t feel limited to donating in the amounts suggested above. For example, a donor giving 55,000 would be entitled to two A4 size prints and one A3 size Inkjet print and so on.
