We are pleased to invite you to the reception and publication launch of The Back Page Revisited!
The project is a compilation of images and text, created by tutors and participants of two photographic workshops held in 2013: the bdp (bookdummypress) Workshop and Handmade Photobook Workshop “A Handmade photobook is like a diamond in the rough”. Both workshops have one common theme “scenes of incidents reported in newspaper articles”. Participants researched events of their choice, and then visited the site and photographed their interpretation of it.
The exhibition will be held at the Reminders Photography Stronghold and the book will be available for purchase during the evening.
We invite guests to bring a cutout of a news story of their choice in a celebration of the printed story. We envisage that this project will continue into the new year and will develop to become broader in scope.
Exhibition date: Friday, 4th October to Monday, 4th November. 1 pm to 7pm
Reception evening: Friday, 4th October from 6pm to 9pm
*This is an open event.

the back page revisited:
Familiar and usual place, ordinary scene without specific features, public area with many people gathering and passing by or very private secluded location – in those places they once deprived others of their lives, plotted to ambush someone, hidden evidence of their guilt, abandoned bodies. Some of them killed themselves and others because they couldn’t find reasons of their own existence or feared rejection by society. I was wondering whether traces reminiscing the past events still exist. Seeing the scenes of incidents that once shook the nation I question the human nature.
