Photobook Master Class 2024 – Final Presentation Exhibition : OCTOBER 18TH – 26TH, 2025
This exhibition showcases the work of participants from the Photobook Master Class held in December 2024.
Led by Dutch photobook experts Toon van der Heijden and Sandra van der Dooren, the workshop was designed to support photographers in shaping their long-term photographic projects into compelling book form.
The program began with an “elevator pitch,” where each photographer presented their project in under three minutes. From there, participants revisited extensive archives of past images and explored how to best utilize the photobook format—experimenting with sequence, design, paper, binding, format, and physical thickness. Through continuous trials and prototypes, they sought ways to deepen their concepts and refine their visual narratives.
To harness the multi-layered experience a photobook can offer—through both visual and tactile engagement—participants worked to weave in layers of information and intention, adding depth and texture to their work. After the core workshop, participants received follow-up feedback from the instructors and have since continued developing their books independently.
As Toon has noted, the transformation from “vision” to “visual expression” is ultimately a process of repeated trial and error.
During the exhibition, each photographer will present their work in a dedicated wall space, along with numerous dummy books created throughout the development process, which visitors are welcome to browse by hand.
A portion of the gallery will be used as a working space, where ongoing project development will take place. Visitors are warmly invited to engage with the artists and witness the evolving creative process.
We look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition.
