While studying Hajime Kimura discovered in the university library a book on ancient Japanese tribal cultures in mountain landscapes. Fascinated by this original way of life, he decides to portray the camera culture Matagi. That tribe, who lived until the 1960s largely with no money in the northern forests of Japan and located mainly in the winter months of the hunt. Aware that the memory threatens this tradition, to be forgotten, to Kimura has temporarily joined this tribe between 2007 and 2011.. A photo book on the subject, published in Japan under the title KODAMA was, in 2013 Singapore received the first prize of the IPA Asia Award. Now Kimura has arranged the material as Scrap Book and enriched the photos of snow-covered landscapes, bears hunted and the Matagi in her barren home with small notes and illustrations. The Scrap Book of Hajime Kimura was awarded the Dummy Award occasion of Kassler Photobook Festival in 2014.
