From 6pm on Monday 27th May : Public presentation made by “Photobook as Object” workshop participants

From 6pm on Monday 27th May, we will be holding a public presentation made by the 13 participants of this year’s “Photobook as Object” workshop run by with photographer Jan Rosseel and curator Yumi Goto.

This year, we have photographers from Peru, Mexico, Taiwan, Chile, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan and around the world gathered together in one place.

It is common that photographers are subject to a series of trial and error in this workshop. They may need to reconsider conservative or traditional ideas in order to offer a deeper engagement with details they choose to include in their books, such as justifying their merit in a strong visual narrative. Only those who are able to endure this challenging process can finally reach a point of creating a valuable photobook as an object.

This event is a public presentation by the artists immediately after the end of the workshop where they will show their work in progress in the form of book dummies of varying the innovative design.

We are looking forward to seeing you there as well as your participation!
