Tokyo Art Book Fair 2017「PHOTOBOOK AS OBJECT / PHOTOBOOK WHO CARES」

The photographers group “PHOTOBOOK AS OBJECT / PHOTOBOOK WHO CARES,”
which comprises participants of the photobook workshops held at REMINDERS PHOTOGRAPHY STRONGHOLD (Tokyo), presents and sells photobooks at various photo and book fairs.
This year, we will be participating in Tokyo Art Book Fair 2017 – the biggest book fair in Asia – for the fourth time.
The fair will be held at Tennozu Island. Terrada Soko is the main venue.

*Expressing the complex and multifaceted REALITY *
The photobooks we create are not just books with simple sequences of photographs. To represent REALITY, materials are collected and combined with various techniques, and weaved into stories.
Exploration with materials, book sizes, paper types and edition numbers; all these elements represent the theme of a book.
We strongly believe that books as entities constitute a form of composite art that enables a reader to relive REALITY, and that is what we aim to achieve when creating photobooks. For Tokyo Art Book Fair, we present special edition artist books where artists did everything from printing to binding, books published as trade editions by international publishers, and books highly regarded at international dummy awards. Several books will be for sale at the book fair, and we accept orders for special editions. The artists will also be present to chat directly with the visitors. We look forward to meeting you and showing you the books!

On this Facebook page, we will introduce photobooks created by the group members one by one. Don’t miss it.
